We have recently received some yummy Taiwanese snacks from our friends. We’ve never seen these in Canadian stores so we were excited to try them. I’m not the best at descriptions but I hope these will suffice!
Chocolate covered pocky: A thick milk chocolate coating which has a creamy texture. I find the coating overpowers the biscuit. But a tasty treat nonetheless.
These are available to purchase here
Matcha Kit Kat: It comes in little packages which is perfect for a small snack. These Kit Kats aren’t too sweet but will satisfy a sweet craving. Matcha is an acquired taste so this may not appeal to milk chocolate Kit Kat lovers.
If you would like a more in-depth review of the Kit Kat, japanese snack reviews has a great thorough description.
Doraemon Themed Pocky:
From left to right the flavours are: cookies and cream, dorayaki ( a Japanese red bean pancake) and strawberry. The cookies and cream pocky is a chocolate flavoured biscuit with a white chocolate coating. The dorayaki is the plain biscuit stick coated with red bean flavoured chocolate with little red bean bits. The strawberry pocky is a strawberry coated biscuit. This one was the sweetest out of the three and my personal favourite.
Matcha cream filled koala biscuits:
The sweet biscuit paired with the bittersweet matcha cream compliment each other perfectly. This is a must try for matcha lovers.
Question of the day: What is the strangest flavour of Kit Kats you have tried?
